A balayage az egyik olyan irányzat, mely évek óta masszívan tartja magát a frizuradivatban, és nem úgy tűnik, hogy belátható időn belül el kellene búcsúznunk tőle. A leggyakoribb, barna hajban szőke, illetve szőke hajban barna, sepregetős melír nem sok újdonságot tartogat, mégis újra és újra „feltalálják”. Leginkább a névadást illetően.

A legújabb verzióval Gerilyn Ghaisarzadeh orlandói fodrász állt elő: ő jeges mokka balayage-nak nevezte el az alábbi képen látható frizurát.
