A Facebook megjelenése és térhódítása miatt azonban azt tapasztaltuk, hogy a beszélgetések nagyrésze áttevődött a közösségi médiába, ezért úgy döntöttünk, a fórumot hibernáljuk, ezentúl csak olvasása lehetséges. Arra gondoltam, mivel ilyen topic még nincs, (bár ha jól emlékszem már volt kísérlet) és annyi ország képviselteti magát Veletek az nlc-n, hogy izgalmas lenne, ha mindenki az általa olvasott országos napilap címoldalán szereplő híreket, mely fontos és mindenki számára érdekes, megosztaná Velünk! Gay men are queuing up to get a vaccine licensed to protect women against cervical cancer – because it may protect against anal cancer too.
Private healthcare clinics in the UK are reporting a high level of demand from men for Gardasil, the new vaccine against the human papilloma virus (HPV), even though it’s only licensed for adult use in women.
Dr Sean Cummings of gay men’s clinic Freedom Health told the BBC he had vaccinated dozens of men since the vaccine became available in the last few weeks.
"We've had a strong demand for it,” he said. “I had a man come in for the vaccine this morning. He was 24. Then I have one this afternoon who is 67 years old.”
Gardasil is licensed to be given to both boys and girls aged 9 to 15 before they become sexually active, and some sexual health experts say there is no point in immunising people who are already sexually active against HPV – especially as the vaccine is one of the most expensive yet made, at £450 for a three-shot course.
HPV can be so easily caught that a study by the University of California, San Francisco found it in 61% of HIV negative and 93% of HIV-positive gay men, and 60% of American teenagers will have caught at least one variety within three years of starting to have sex.

BAQOUBA, Iraq - U.S. and Iraqi forces have seized a large weapons cache that includes parts for sophisticated roadside bombs that are believed to originate in Iran, U.S. military investigators said.
Details of the find were expected to be announced Monday at a news conference in Baghdad.
But military officials told The Associated Press that the arsenal is one of the biggest found north of the Iraqi capital and contains components for so-called EFPs - explosively formed projectiles that fire a slug of molten metal that can penetrate armored vehicles.
The U.S. military has said elite Iranian corps are funneling EFPs to Shiite militias in Iraq for use against American troops. The area where the cache was found is dominated by Sunni insurgents but also includes pockets of Shiites.
Earlier this month, U.S. officials showed reporters in Baghdad pieces of EFPs they said were directly traceable to Iran.
An informant tipped off Iraqi police to the weapons stash Saturday, the military said in a statement to the AP. It was discovered near Baqouba, the provincial capital of Diyala province, about 35 miles northeast of Baghdad.
Along with the EFPs, the weapons cache contained more than two dozen mortars and 15 rockets. There were enough metal disks to make 130 EFPs, the military said.
The origin of the weapons seized Saturday was being investigated, said Lt. Col. Michael Donnelly, spokesman for Multinational Division-North.
"This local tip led to what is the most potentially lethal IED cache seized in northern Iraq in the past eight months," Donnelly said.
Last week, U.S. troops found a suspected Shiite weapons hideout in the southern city of Hilla that also included parts to make the lethal roadside bombs. The New York Times reported that the stash included a bomb-rigged fake boulder made of polyurethane that was apparently ready to be placed for an attack.
A statement from the U.S. military Monday said that 63 weapons caches have been discovered during major U.S.-Iraqi security sweeps around Baghdad that began Feb. 14. The arsenals included anti-aircraft weapons, armor-piercing bullets, bomb components and mortar rounds, the statement said.
The plan could draw broad bipartisan support but was expected to be a tough sell to members who said they don't think it goes far enough to assuage voters angered by the four-year war.
Bush "hasn't to date done anything we've asked him to do, so why we would think he would do anything in the future is beyond me," said Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., one of a group of liberal Democrats pushing for an immediate end to the war.
Democratic protests to the war grew louder in January after they took control of Congress and Bush announced that he planned to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq. Earlier this month, House Democrats pushed through a nonbinding resolution opposing the troop buildup.
Since then, Democrats have been trying to decide what to do next. Some worried that a plan by Rep. John Murtha to restrict funding for the war would go too far. Murtha, D-Pa., is extending his support to the revised proposal.
The tactic is more likely to embarrass Bush politically than force his hand on the war. He would have to sign repeated waivers for units and report to Congress those units with equipment shortfalls and other problems.
In the Senate, a group of senior Democrats want to repeal the 2002 measure authorizing the war and write a new resolution restricting the mission and ordering troop withdrawals to begin by this summer. But Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Iraq will have to wait until the Senate finishes work to improve homeland security.
"That would mean we would hold off the Iraq legislation for a matter of days, not weeks," he said.
The House Democrats' plan brought a sharp response from Brian Kennedy, spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.
"If this is the Democrats' last ditch effort to appease the ultraliberal wing of their party while appearing to support the troops at the same time, I don't think they are going to convince either one of any commitment whatsoever," Kennedy said. "This appears to be political posturing at its worst and yet another attempt to undermine the mission of our troops in harm's way. The American people are going to see right through it."
As Democrats met behind closed doors to discuss their options Tuesday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the Bush administration would talk to leaders from Iran and Syria on stabilizing Iraq.
Rice announced U.S. support for the Iraq meeting, to be held in Baghdad next month, at a Senate hearing in which Democrats pressed her and Defense Secretary Robert Gates to explain what progress is being made in the Baghdad security crackdown and how soon U.S. troops will be coming home.
The decision to engage Iran and Syria on the war in Iraq is a major departure for U.S. policy. The bipartisan Iraq Study Group in December recommended U.S. dialogue with Iran and Syria, but until now the administration has resisted that course.

happening inside the home. Does he have a plug-in hybrid? That
would certain jack up electrical consumption. How many square
feet of living space does he have (the more living space the more
your resource consumption)? How is the home used? Without a
doubt he and his family live here but does he also use it as an
office? If so how many people are there staffing it? What are they doing there?
Without *any* indication of the application its the same as being
outraged because someone uses a thousand gallons of gas a
month and then finding out that they are a truck driver.

Public power and gas bills turned up by the group show that the man behind the Oscar-winning global warming wakeup documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," uses much more overall carbon-based fuel than the average American, spending thousands of dollars a month on electricity and gas.
"As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk the walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use," Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson said in a statement. The center says on its Web site that it "promotes personal freedom and limited government."
The think tank report cited figures from the Nashville Electric Service that showed Gore burned through 22,619 kilowatt-hours of electricity at his house last August, a rate that is twice the level used by an average U.S. household in an entire year.
On Sunday, Gore's global-warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" won an Oscar. The movie has won accolades from a wide berth of groups, including many in Hollywood. In the film, Gore calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.
Using Gore's fresh win as a backdrop, the new report said Gore's energy consumption jumped by about 14 percent in a year. The Gore household averaged 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, and 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.
The report also said that the Gores' natural gas bills for his mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.
