When you try your bridesmaid dress on from September 2015 and you have to hold at least 8″ of it tight in the back in order to see your shape underneath ???? The dress is a size 18, and according to the #davidsbridal size chart, I would now be a size 8! ???? ▪️▪️▪️ I am ⬇️63.1 lbs as of this morning, and less than a pound away from my original goal of -64lbs! Whaaaaat! It has taken me a good, solid 8 ish months of work to achieve this weight loss, not counting my 5 months of weight loss maintenance in there, so I could keep my sanity and go a little easier on my body. ▪️▪️▪️ I definitely didn't think I would hit that goal when I made it, after years of weight fluctuation and “false starts” with cleanse and fitness programs and products, but here I am. Almost there. And now setting a new goal. Reaching further. Pushing harder. ▪️▪️▪️ People often ask what my secrets are… And I say: Perseverance, being patient with myself, and starting small–mastering the routine of #orangetheoryfitness (or any physical fitness) once a week. Then twice a week, and then more, if you can handle it. And when that was routine, I added in portion control of my food into the mix and started tracking what I ate on #myfitnesspal. One thing at a time. Don't try to do it all at once. ▪️▪️▪️ Working with my registered dietitian, I was able to ensure I got the nutrients I needed and did things the right way (slow and steady), while also tackling the emotional side of why I gained that weight in the first place, and what my mental/emotional hurdles I needed to get past were. ▪️▪️▪️ None of this happened overnight.
